How can we encourage others – Saturday

As we become part of the family of God, one of the greatest responsibilities we have is to encourage each other. What must we do in order to encourage others?

1. We can remind one another of God’s faithfulness. –

Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

2. We can pray for the difficult times others are going through.

Philemon 1:4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

3. Learn to extend forgiveness.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

4. Walk beside them and assure them that they are not alone.

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

We are living in difficult times. We need to stand by one another. The church is our oasis in a troubled world. If you are hurting, reach out to someone who cares. Do not walk alone. If you know someone else who is hurting, come along side of them and unconditionally love them.

Let’s begin to walk with one another in a way that will cause others to want to be part of this loving family. As believers, we need to set the standard. Let the church rise up and be a healing place for those who have been hurting alone far too long.

Prayer: Father, may you Holy Spirit united us as one. May we be sensitive to the needs of those around us. I pray that you will lead us to the place of surrender and service. May I do my part within this body to do my part, I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
