What Part am I – Thursday

I Corinthians 12:12; 14-18 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?  And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

God has placed you in just the right place in His body of believers. He needs you right where He has placed you. You may say, I am not very important. God says differently. He says every part is important in His family. Ask yourself this question. What part of my physical body is not important? Your foot, your toes, your hand, your arm, your eyes, your ears, your fingers, which one? You say, well they all are important. That is right. The same goes for the body of Christ. I happen to be a pastor. Does that make me more important? No! Pastor Randy as the associate? No! How about the teacher or nursery worker or yard man or the food pantry workers or those who visit those in need? Are they not just as important in the body? YES. God specializes in taking people who feel they have little to offer and doing great things with and through them. Find your place. Become part of the living Body of Jesus Christ and get involved. You will be glad you did when you stand before Jesus at the resurrection.

Let your pastors know that you want to be involved. Let them know your passion and let them help you find your spot within the family. God needs you, the church needs you and the community needs you. May God bless us as we all work together to further His kingdom.

Prayer: Father, help me to find my place within the Body of Christ you have placed me in. I am so thankful you love me enough to include me in your plan for our community. Let our church be a living, active organism for you and may we be found faithful until you come to take us home. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
