We cannot impart holiness to others just by how we live. What we need to do, is live the scriptures.
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
We must learn that as believers we should have a different lifestyle than the unbeliever. All too often, however, believers believe that the way to reach the unsaved is to adopt our lifestyle to theirs. The fact of the matter is, that is totally backward. We need to live our lives in such a way that others will see Christ in us and want what we have. Holiness sometimes involves separating yourself from certain lifestyles.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Take time to reread Psalm 1. What a great blue print in how to live our lives.
1. Blessed is the man that walks not among the ungodly.
2. Blessed is the man who delights in the Lord.
3. The man who is blessed will be fruitful in the right things.
4. The ungodly man will not be able to stand in the presence of God in judgment.
5. The ungodly will perish.
Given the word to us in Psalm 1, you can see how important it is to live a godly holy life. True blessings from God come as we learn this way of living.
Prayer: Father, help us to learn to be a Psalm 1 believer. Let us honor You and walk away from evil and ungodliness. May our light shine bright for Jesus and may we be able to live the scriptures before others, I pray in Jesus’ name amen.
