Following our Father’s instructions -Day 2

As believers, God has placed within each of us His Spirit.

As believers, God has placed within each of us His Spirit.

1. God’s Spirit teaches us how to live according to the Father’s will.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

2. God’s Spirit is our teacher –

Psalms 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

3. God’s Spirit is our keeper –

Jude 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

4. God’s Spirit is our assurance of our salvation –

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

As believers, we are given God’s word as our instruction book. But without God’s Holy Spirit, we would be unable to understand His word and His will.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The natural man is the one who does not put his trust in Jesus. He does not have the Spirit of God living within and therefore does not have the one thing he needs to understand God’s word.

Prayer: Father, thank you for your Spirit within us. Help us to learn to listen to Him as we read your word together. Teach us how to live and how to treat others in our everyday life. May all we do glorify Jesus! I pray in Jesus name, amen.

Today’s verse:

Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children
