Being born again is the first step toward becoming all that God designed you to be. Without this first step, one will never know the path that He has designed for us to walk. We as believers, need to understand that without Jesus the world will never understand you. They cannot understand your I Corinthians 13 love, they cannot understand your joy in the time of great sorrow, and they cannot understand the peace that you have when everything around you seems to be in chaos, nor do they understand why you have a desire to serve a God that they have never known.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

What does it mean to be born again?
1. You have willingly given up one life for another life –

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2. You have changed families – from the family of the devil to the family of God!
3. You have to choose to join His family.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

4. You must trade your sin in for His righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Being born again is not just a prayer or a decision, it is a surrendering of one’s life in exchange for that of another. We die, so the He can live through us. We surrender our will to His. We sacrifice our comfort for His work. Let’s learn to live like who we really are. God’s kids!

Prayer: Father, help us to live in a way that would show others the Lordship of Jesus in our lives. Let us glorify you in our daily lives and live so others can see and receive and live. Lead us to someone this week who needs Jesus and help us to be faithful in sharing your love with that one so in need. We pray in Jesus name, amen.

Matthew 5: 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
