SHARING IN THE BURDEN OF MISSIONS

THURSDAY: JULY 2nd, 2015

We have established this week that Missions is God’s plan.   Today, let’s look at our responsibility to send out those who He calls.  How can the church be a part of this plan of God?

  1. Come when the church has missionaries to see what God is doing in other places
  2. Ask God to lead you in how much to give to help in the ministry of missions.

II Corinthians 9: 6-10 – But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food,  and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

  1. Make yourself available to God should he call. –

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

  2. Pray daily for those who God chooses to send –

1 Thessalonians 5:25  Brethren, pray for us.

Hebrews 13:18  Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

Ask yourself:

  1. Do I have a heart to see lost people come to Christ?
  2. Am I willing to allow God to use me so that others may know Him?

Prayer:  Father, today, bless those who are serving on the field you have called them to.  Let them know that they are not alone and that you are working in their lives today.  Help me to be faithful here where I live.  Let me have the faith today to increase my giving so that those who you send can be blessed and carry out the work you have given them to do.
