Proverbs 3:1-8 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

  1. Believe –  to rely on the truthfulness or accuracy.
  2. Entrust – to commit or place in one’s care or keeping.
  3. Hope –  to be confident of.
  4. Depend –  to place confidence in.

This is what these verses are saying:

Don’t forget God’s law, do what you know is right, listen to your conscious. If you do this, it will make your life more stable. You will be at peace because you did what you know was right.

Don’t walk away from or quit being merciful. You have received mercy. Don’t walk away from that which you know to be true. Show mercy and be truthful, and let it come from a pure heart. Be strong in moral character.

If you do this, you will please God and no man will find fault in you.

Trust the Lord, he has proven himself faithful. He sees and knows everything.

We are limited in our thinking.

Follow Him. Listen to Him and he will open doors that no man can close and close doors that no man can open. Don’t be foolish. Are you smarter than the Creator? Respect Him, give Him the honor He is due. Do what is right.

Memory Verse

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Today make a conscious effort to show mercy to others and to share God’s Word with someone. Don’t let trials and trouble distract you.
