Submitting to God’s Word
There are many places people can turn to for counsel and advice, but none are as sure and stable as God’s word itself. We need to allow His word to be our guide, standard, source of truth and comfort in all we do. Today, let’s all apply this principle in all we do.
- His word is TRUTH – John 17:17-19 – 17 ¶ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. (the word sanctify here means to make one pure, to set one free from guilt)
- His word is LIFE – John 12:49-50 – 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
- His word is CONVICTING – Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
- His word is forever – Psalm 119:89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Today’s memory verse: Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
