LIVING STEADFAST IN AN UNSTABLE WORLD – Day 2

Submitting to God Himself

James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Proper Biblical submission begins with learning to submit to God Himself.  God has a right to demand this from us.  Let’s look at just a few reasons why.

  1. He created us with a divine purpose- Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
  2. He designed us to work best under His leadership – Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.; Proverbs 3:5-6 – 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
  3. He is our only protection from the power of the evil one (the devil) – Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
  4. He is always there – Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation {the way you live your lifebe without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
  5. He never changes – Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever.
