Morning Church “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” Proverbs 15:13)
As you go about your day today be reminded that the Love of God abides within you.
That is what produces a merry (joyful) heart.
Sorrow’s are a certainty in life, they come in many forms. The loss of a job, a relationship that is broken, the death of a loved one, accidents that alter your course, the list is endless. We’re never fully prepared for sorrow and we are not expected to be “happy” that they have come into our life.
We can however prepare for joy.
Prepare by getting close to Jesus, get close to Jesus by accepting his gift of redemption, grow closer to Jesus by reading His love letter to us.
You’ll discover treasure in the pages of the Bible.
Treasure such as “The joy of the Lord is our strength” Nehemiah 8:10.
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
This kind of “joy” is deeper than the “happy” joy feeling that is temporary. The joy of The Lord is a lasting joy, a joy that knows through life’s trials we are helped and strengthened.
We live in a world hungry for joy and we have it.
Today, share that joy with someone. Give them a smile and a genuine look of love. You just might start a spark that will change the world. Love ya all. Have an awesome Thursday.
