“For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.” (Isaiah 30:15)
God’s people have always had a rebellious streak in them. They have wandered away from home on more than one occasion and I am afraid it is still so today. It is comforting to know that He always leaves the light on.
Are you tired of straying?
Have the things of the world failed to bring you satisfaction?
Then simply come home.
The Parable of the lost son is a wonderful picture of how Jesus waits for us. Read about it in Luke 15:11-32. But pay special attention to verse 20
“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.“
But when he was yet a great way off his father saw him,
Could that mean the father was always watching for his son to return?
and had compassion,
Sounds like there wasn’t a tongue lashing waiting for the son!
and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Doesn’t appear to me like the father was standing his ground, arms crossed, tapping his foot waiting for his son to grovel.
Just the opposite! When we stray Jesus waits for us to come back to Him! When we do He runs to us has compassion on us! His mercies are new every morning!
When you come home you will find His arms wide open and rest and strength for you weary soul.
GOD LOVES YOU and so do I.
